A 96-year-old social media star says her retirement home threatened to evict her after hosting late-night parties that became a viral sensation online.
Lillian Droniak, better known as Grandma Droniak, told her millions of TikTok and Instagram followers that management warned her to stop throwing gatherings in her room after receiving multiple noise complaints.
According to a letter shown in one of her videos, staff said parties were not permitted, security footage showed guests leaving her room around 1 a.m., and residents were not allowed to serve alcohol because of safety concerns. The notice warned that continued violations could lead to visitor restrictions or even a review of her residency.
Droniak responded by tearing up the letter on camera, joking that she pays $12,000 a month to live there and should be able to enjoy herself. She also told followers she planned to keep inviting friends over to drink, gossip, and have fun.
The video quickly went viral, drawing support from fans and celebrities. Paris Hilton offered her Hilton Honors points for a hotel party, while Jersey Shore star Snooki joked that she would represent Droniak as her lawyer.
Despite the online attention, the dispute has since been resolved. A representative for Droniak said the retirement home agreed to allow late-night visitors as long as she does not provide alcohol to other residents. In a follow-up video, the 96-year-old joked that she was hungover from another party and insisted she has no plans to stop celebrating.
