Meta’s chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, says the company’s new AI agent, Muse, could potentially help users save around $1,000 by taking over everyday financial tasks.
Wang and members of his team have been sharing examples of how people can prompt Muse to examine their spending and look for opportunities to recover or save money. Instead of simply offering financial suggestions, the AI agent is designed to help carry out some of those tasks on the user’s behalf.
For example, Muse could identify subscriptions that are no longer being used and help cancel them, search online for discounts and better prices, or contact insurance providers to negotiate potentially cheaper rates. The agent can continue working on these tasks in the background while the user focuses on other things.
The idea is to turn AI from a tool that mainly answers questions into an agent capable of taking actions that could produce measurable financial savings. Wang has promoted the concept through the #musemoneychallenge, encouraging users to see how much money the agent can help them save.
