Alphabet’s venture arm GV and Nvidia have backed British AI startup Synthesia in a $200 million funding round that values the company at $4 billion, nearly doubling its valuation from early 2025 and highlighting continued investor appetite for generative AI.

Synthesia provides AI-powered video tools used by businesses for training and internal communication. CEO Victor Riparbelli said the new funding will be used to develop more interactive, “agentic” features that allow real-time interaction with AI-generated video content.

The London-based company generates about $150 million in annual recurring revenue and expects to surpass $200 million by the end of the year. Alongside GV and Nvidia, investors in the round include Accel, New Enterprise Associates, Hedosophia, Evantic, and Air Street Capital.

The deal underscores strong AI investment momentum in Europe, as startups like Synthesia compete with major US players such as OpenAI and Anthropic for capital and enterprise customers.
