Anthropic has reportedly selected Nasdaq for its planned initial public offering, with an October 2026 debut currently being targeted.
The Claude maker could seek a valuation of around $2 trillion, although the final figure has not yet been determined. Anthropic has not publicly filed for its IPO, and its financial statements will need to be released before its investor road show begins.
The decision gives Nasdaq another major technology listing after securing SpaceX earlier this year. Competition between Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange has intensified as large tech IPOs remain relatively rare and increasingly valuable.
Anthropic’s potential listing also comes amid renewed debate over AI safety and regulation. Despite those concerns, reports suggest the company still plans to move forward with its public-market debut.
Going public could provide Anthropic with additional capital for the enormous computing and infrastructure costs required to compete with other frontier AI companies, while also bringing greater financial transparency and scrutiny.
