Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce a significantly upgraded version of Siri, this time powered by Google’s Gemini AI. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company plans to announce the new assistant in the second half of February, using the reveal to highlight the early results of its partnership with Google and showcase Siri’s new Gemini-driven capabilities.
Following the announcement, the updated Siri is expected to arrive with iOS 26.4, which is scheduled to enter beta testing in February ahead of a wider release in March or early April.
Apple first teased its next-generation Siri at WWDC 2024, but recent reporting suggests this version will represent a major shift, with Siri behaving more like an AI chatbot similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Gurman also reports that Apple plans a more comprehensive unveiling of the new Siri, currently codenamed “Campos,” at its annual developer conference this summer. Beyond that event, the full rollout of Gemini-powered Apple Intelligence features is expected to come with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which are all anticipated to enter beta later in the summer.
