An AI-powered cow collar system known as the “cowgorithm” is gaining attention after Halter reached a valuation of around $2 billion.

The New Zealand-based company uses smart, solar-powered collars to help farmers track livestock, monitor health, and guide herds without physical fences. Instead, cows respond to sound and vibration signals controlled through a mobile app.

The system allows farmers to move entire herds remotely while collecting data on health, fertility, and behavior. Already used across multiple countries, the technology has enabled ranchers to create virtual fencing and reduce infrastructure costs.
