DoorDash is getting into video game sales, but unlike Uber Eats, it won’t be sending physical games or consoles to customers’ homes.
The move comes just weeks after GameStop partnered with Uber Eats to offer same-day delivery of games, accessories, and consoles. DoorDash is taking a different approach, selling digital game codes that are delivered by email instead.
Under DoorDash’s terms, the company is working with InComm Digital Solutions to sell digital redemption codes and PINs for games from publishers including Nintendo, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and Blizzard.
Transactions are processed through DoorDash Giftcards LLC, while the games and digital content remain the responsibility of the publishers themselves.
Rather than having a Dasher bring anything to your door, customers receive their purchased code at the email address entered during checkout. The code can then be redeemed through platforms such as the Nintendo eShop, Microsoft Store, or another supported marketplace.
Customers will need to make sure their email address is correct. DoorDash says codes that are sent successfully cannot be replaced if the customer enters the wrong address or loses access to the message.
Digital game purchases are also treated as final, meaning they generally cannot be refunded or exchanged once the code has been delivered.
The service expands on DoorDash’s existing relationship with InComm, which began in 2024 when digital gift cards were introduced to the platform.
For now, video game codes are available only through the DoorDash mobile app and are limited to customers in the United States.
The addition pushes DoorDash further beyond restaurant delivery, adding digital gaming products alongside groceries, pharmacy items, retail purchases, and other services available through the app.
