Ferrari has officially revealed its first fully electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce, developed in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his design firm LoveFrom.

Ive is best known for helping design many of Apple’s most iconic products, including the iPhone, iMac, iPod, MacBook, Apple Watch, and iPad. He worked closely with Steve Jobs and became one of the key figures behind Apple’s minimalist design identity.

Ferrari unveiled the EV on May 25, marking a major shift for the company best known for its V8 and V12 supercars. The Luce is a four-door, five-seat electric vehicle with more than 1,000 horsepower, a reported 0–62 mph time of 2.5 seconds, and a starting price of around €550,000.

Ferrari chairman John Elkann partnered with LoveFrom back in 2021, bringing Ive and designer Marc Newson onto the project as Ferrari began developing its first EV.

The Luce’s interior heavily reflects Apple-style minimalism, combining glass, aluminum, OLED displays, and physical controls throughout the cockpit. Ferrari and LoveFrom said the design intentionally balances digital interfaces with tactile buttons and switches instead of relying entirely on touchscreens.

Early previews highlighted details such as a glass gear selector, rotating center display, anodized aluminum trim, and physical steering wheel controls inspired by Ferrari’s racing heritage.

Ferrari said the EV was designed to preserve the feel of a traditional Ferrari despite removing the combustion engine. The company also developed a custom sound system and simulated mechanical feedback to recreate elements associated with its gas-powered cars.

The reveal comes as luxury brands continue leaning into Apple nostalgia and the legacy of Steve Jobs for high-end collectors.

Earlier this year, a custom $10,000 iPhone 17 Pro went viral after featuring a piece of Steve Jobs’ signature black turtleneck embedded into the phone’s design.
