A Florida man was arrested after trying to stay inside a Walmart overnight while live-streaming a TikTok challenge for views.

The incident happened late on January 13 at a Walmart in Englewood, Florida, when deputies responded to a report of a possible burglary involving a TikTok livestream. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrived just after 11 p.m. following a call that someone was still inside the store after closing.

Deputies found the suspect, identified as Isaac Matthew Hurley, hiding in the dog bed section while actively live-streaming on TikTok. Investigators said Hurley entered the store around 10:15 p.m. and planned to remain inside overnight to complete the challenge and earn money based on livestream views.

During the investigation, deputies also discovered that Hurley had removed an iPhone charger from its packaging. He was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary of an occupied structure and petit theft.

Sheriff Bill Prummell criticized viral social media challenges that encourage illegal behavior, saying they often put young people in risky situations for views and likes rather than promoting positive actions.
