FOX Sports is offering one football fan a dream FIFA World Cup job: getting paid to watch every match of the 2026 tournament.

The company announced a partnership with FOX One and Indeed to hire a temporary “FOX One Chief World Cup Watcher,” a role centered around FIFA World Cup 2026.

The selected fan will earn $50,000 to watch all 104 matches during the 39-day tournament, running from June 11 to July 19.

According to FOX, the winner will stream every match live in 4K on FOX One from a custom-built viewing setup in Times Square, New York City.

But the role involves more than just watching football. The chosen applicant will also create social media content throughout the tournament, sharing reactions and commentary during the World Cup.

“This FIFA World Cup will be a historic tournament that calls for an equally historic hire,” said Robert Gottlieb, President of Marketing at FOX Sports.

Applicants must update their Indeed profiles by May 17 and are encouraged to post a short video explaining why they deserve the role using the hashtag #ChiefWorldCupWatcher.

The winner will be revealed on June 6 during FOX’s broadcast of the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game, with the role continuing until July 26.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest tournament in history, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and host cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

FOX joins a growing trend of companies creating viral “dream jobs.” Earlier this year, Wendy’s offered $100,000 for a “Chief Tasting Officer” role, while Pizza Hut searched for a “Crust Connoisseur” to eat pizza for a year.
