French content creator Mounim Sabhi has been arrested as French authorities investigate allegations of violence and humiliation involving homeless and vulnerable people at a mansion used for livestreamed content.
Sabhi operates La Team du Château, a social media reality project based at a property near Blois, France. The mansion housed people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and addiction, with their daily lives broadcast on platforms including TikTok, Kick, and Twitch.
Police detained Sabhi at the property on September 21. According to prosecutors, investigators also seized cameras and €3,400 in cash.
Authorities have been investigating Sabhi since April 2026 over alleged acts of violence and humiliation against residents described as being in highly vulnerable situations.
The investigation covers six alleged offenses, including violence against a vulnerable person, broadcasting footage of deliberate physical attacks, incitement to hatred or violence, and exploiting people in states of psychological or physical dependency. One of the alleged offenses carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a €750,000 fine.
Sabhi, who has more than 100,000 TikTok followers, has said the project was intended to help people leave the streets and overcome addiction. However, media investigations reported footage showing residents being insulted, humiliated, placed in dangerous situations, and subjected to physical confrontations.
Former participants have also alleged poor conditions and pressure to remain awake for livestreams. Sabhi has denied being violent, while one resident featured in several clips has denied being physically abused.
The case has drawn comparisons in France to other livestreaming controversies involving the mistreatment of vulnerable people.
Sabhi remains under investigation. Police custody is an investigative measure under French law and does not itself mean he has been convicted of the allegations.
