A 15-year-old boy in Germany is facing charges after stealing a bus and driving around 80 miles to take his girlfriend to school.

On March 13, the teen from Wiesbaden reportedly entered a bus depot, accessed a master key, and drove off in a vehicle that had been parked overnight and fully fueled. Staff initially assumed it was a simple mix-up until the bus didn’t return, prompting a police search.

He had driven roughly 130 kilometers to pick up his 14-year-old girlfriend. Authorities later located the bus in Karlsruhe, where the teen was found behind the wheel, allegedly on the way to her school.

Despite having no driver’s license, he completed the trip without causing any damage or injuries. Police say they are still unsure how he obtained the key or managed to operate the bus so effectively.

The bus was returned safely, but the teen now faces charges for theft and driving without a license.
