Israeli F-35I Adir jets targeted Iranian missile systems and senior military figures in a large-scale air operation alongside US forces.

The F-35I, Israel’s customized version of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, is equipped with advanced stealth features and locally developed electronic warfare systems.

The aircraft can reach speeds of Mach 1.6 and costs about $44,000 per flight hour.

Israel has used the Adir in multiple operations, including strikes on Iranian targets in June 2025, intercepting missiles and drones in 2023 and 2024, and defending key airbases such as Nevatim.

Israel was the first country outside the US to acquire and later deploy the F-35 in combat, and has since expanded its fleet through additional purchases funded by US military aid.
