LEGO has unveiled its biggest Lord of the Rings set ever, with Minas Tirith set to launch on June 1.
The massive white city of Gondor, built into Mount Mindolluin, became one of the most iconic locations in The Return of the King during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and Gondor’s final stand against Sauron’s army.
The 18+ set contains 8,278 pieces and recreates the city using the visual style made famous by Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.
Minifigures included in the set are Aragorn, Arwen, Faramir, Pippin, Denethor, Gandalf the White with Shadowfax, and four Gondorian soldiers.
According to Jay’s Brick Blog, fans who buy the set between June 1 and June 7 will also receive a free Grond battering ram build from Mordor.
The set will retail for $649.99 USD, with LEGO Insiders getting early access on June 1 before the wider release on June 4.
It is now the largest Lord of the Rings LEGO set ever released and the sixth largest LEGO set overall, surpassing the Millennium Falcon, though the Star Wars Death Star set still remains larger with more than 9,000 pieces.
