A man is suing his wife, alleging she used their home CCTV system to access his recovery phrase and steal nearly $200M in Bitcoin, pushing him to secretly bug their house to uncover what happened.
According to court filings from March 2026, the alleged theft involved 2,323 Bitcoin taken in 2023 and later distributed across 71 different wallets, where the funds have reportedly remained untouched for over two years.
He claims he was first alerted by his daughter, which led him to install listening devices in their home and piece together how the crypto was moved.
The situation escalated after he confronted his wife, resulting in legal consequences for him as well, while the case continues to unfold in court.
