A man in China was sued after blasting “wild ghost” noises through his walls for more than 10 hours a day following an ongoing dispute with a neighbor.

What began as an attempt to intimidate one resident quickly spread beyond its target, disturbing others throughout the building.

According to reports, the noise levels stayed just under the legal threshold, meaning authorities initially could not intervene.

However, another neighbor living two floors away took the case to court, arguing that the constant sounds were disrupting his family’s daily life.

The court ruled in favor of the neighbor, ordering the man to stop playing the noises and dismantle the custom speaker system he had installed specifically for this purpose.

The case highlights how actions that may fall within legal limits can still cross into harassment when they affect a wider group of people.
