YouTube creator Markiplier says he is disappointed with GoPro’s planned merger with an optical transceiver company, even though the deal could reportedly give him a payout of about $15 million.
Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, told that he would vote against the merger despite personally benefiting from it financially.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed,” he said, adding that he does not support the deal.
Markiplier has nearly 40 million subscribers on YouTube and has also expanded into filmmaking. In early 2026, he wrote, directed, and starred in the box-office hit “Iron Lung.”
