A Pokémon-focused YouTuber says his PokeNational channel could be deleted after multiple copyright strikes were issued by Nintendo of America.

The channel built a following with documentary-style videos that presented Pokémon as real animals in a nature series format, following a fictional “Professor Ginkgo.” It gained traction beyond YouTube, with outlets like IGN and Nerdisthighlighting its unique approach.

Creator Elious now says the channel has just seven days before termination, after around 20 videos were struck within hours, leaving multiple active strikes. Some were part of the main series, while others were older animations.

He argues the content was largely original, using only limited game audio, but the claims referenced Pokémon-related visuals, characters, and assets.

With nearly 100,000 subscribers and years of work at risk, Elious says he cannot safely challenge the strikes due to legal concerns. He plans to continue creating on another channel, but not with Pokémon content.

Under YouTube rules, channels with three active copyright strikes can be permanently removed — putting PokeNational on the edge of deletion.
