Seven pet dogs stolen from a village in northeastern China went viral after escaping and finding their way home on their own.
The group reportedly traveled around 17km, crossing roads and fields before reuniting with their owners days later. Footage filmed on March 16 showed the dogs moving in formation along a highway, with viewers noting how coordinated they appeared.
Reports say the dogs were taken by thieves linked to a dog meat operation and escaped from a moving truck. A Corgi led the group, often checking on the others, while the dogs protected an injured German Shepherd in the center. Other breeds, including Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a Pekingese, followed closely.
Despite attempts from bystanders to help, the dogs stayed together and continued in the same direction. Rescuers later confirmed all seven came from the same village and had strong bonds. By March 19, all had safely returned home.
The story quickly spread online, with many calling for it to be turned into an animated film.
