Tesla has increased prices on two Cybertruck trims by $5,000, even as sales of the electric pickup continue to fall short of Elon Musk’s earlier expectations.
The base Dual Motor Cybertruck now starts at $74,990, up from $69,990, while the Premium All-Wheel Drive version increased from $79,990 to $84,990. The top-end Cyberbeast remains priced at $99,990.
The increases come despite weaker demand. Cox Automotive estimates Tesla sold 7,263 Cybertrucks in the U.S. during the first half of 2026, down 32.2% from the same period last year and far below Musk’s previous projection of 250,000 annual deliveries.
Morningstar analyst Seth Goldstein said the higher prices could help Tesla offset rising material costs and protect margins as Cybertruck volumes remain limited. He also suggested Tesla appears to be positioning the vehicle as a premium, lower-volume product rather than trying to turn it into a mass-market pickup.
The strategy would keep the Cybertruck firmly in the luxury segment, relying on its distinctive design and higher pricing even if that means selling fewer vehicles.
