Police in Carbon County are investigating the broad-daylight theft of a Ronald McDonald statue from a local McDonald's restaurant

According to the Nesquehoning Police Department, a group of unidentified suspects casually walked into the fast-food restaurant and walked right back out, carrying Ronald McDonald himself. The beloved clown, known for his bright red hair and oversized yellow shoes, was last seen being escorted out of the building, still smiling as ever.

We’re not clowning around. This was a full-blown McNapping,” the police department shared in a tongue-in-cheek social media post, drawing attention to the strange theft with a bit of humor.

The department added that Ronald “didn’t even put up a fight,” and was likely unaware of the betrayal, remaining cheerful in his plastic silence.

Police also addressed the motivations behind the crime, saying, “We get it — times are tough, and therapy is expensive. But kidnapping a plastic icon of joy? That’s a McFelony.”

Officers are reviewing surveillance footage and asking the public for tips. Anyone with information on Ronald’s whereabouts — or the identity of the suspects — is urged to contact the Nesquehoning Police Department.

Until then, the red-haired ambassador of happiness remains missing, and the town is left without one of its most recognizable figures.
