Wendy’s is inviting fans to get paid to taste its food through a new role called Chief Tasting Officer.
The fast-food chain posted the position online, describing it as a remote job with a $100,000 salary and occasional travel to nearby Wendy’s locations. Applicants are required to submit a video explaining why they should be selected, with the company encouraging creativity and strong tasting skills.
According to the listing, the Chief Tasting Officer will sample Wendy’s menu items, create content, and potentially appear in advertisements. The role may also involve producing vlog updates, trend-focused tasting videos, and other media centered on Wendy’s food.
The company says the person chosen will help bring “vibes, taste, and creativity” to the brand. Basic requirements listed in the posting include having “a human mouth, a pulse, opinions, creativity, and taste.”
Benefits include getting paid to eat, a custom Wendy’s Chief Tasting Officer email signature, and the six-figure salary. Applicants can earn bonus points if their video includes Wendy’s branding, food, or restaurant locations.
The move follows a similar stunt in 2025 when Burger King hired a “Whopperologist” to travel to restaurants and evaluate the consistency, flavor, and craftsmanship of its signature burger.
