A Maryland woman has been arrested after allegedly threatening Taco Bell employees with a handgun because her food order was taking too long.
According to the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on June 18 after 30-year-old Ashley Andrews became upset over the wait for her meal.
Deputies said Andrews argued with employees, told them to meet her outside in the parking lot, then lifted her shirt to reveal a handgun while making threats. Staff also provided surveillance footage that allegedly showed her placing her hand on the firearm during the confrontation.
She was arrested at the scene, and officers recovered the handgun.
Andrews has been charged with second-degree assault, displaying a handgun to another person, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct. She later posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 23 and has been banned from returning to that Taco Bell location.
The incident sparked reactions online, with one witness saying the wait had been around 30 minutes, while another commented that no Taco Bell order was worth risking felony charges over.
