X has introduced a new feature called “React with Video,” giving users a way to respond to posts with short video reactions directly on the platform.
The tool allows users to record themselves while referencing the original post, making it easier to share opinions, commentary, reactions, or additional context. Users can access the feature through the repost menu and choose from multiple display formats, including green screen, split screen, and picture-in-picture layouts.
The update was announced by X Head of Product Nikita Bier, who described video commentary as an important part of conversations on the platform. The feature is designed to make creating reaction content faster and more accessible, allowing users to engage with posts without needing separate editing apps or external tools.
Reaction-style videos have become a major content format across social media, particularly on short-form video platforms where creators frequently respond to clips, news stories, memes, and trending discussions. By bringing similar functionality directly into X, the company is aiming to increase user engagement and encourage more video-based interactions.
The launch also reflects X’s broader push toward becoming a more video-focused platform. In recent years, the company has expanded support for long-form video, creator content, and media-rich posts as it competes with other social networks for user attention.
At launch, “React with Video” is only available to iOS users. X has not yet announced when the feature will be released on Android devices, but the company says the new tool is intended to make conversations on the platform more visual, interactive, and creator-friendly.
