YouTube has announced a price increase for its Premium subscription in the U.S., triggering backlash and cancellations from users.

The individual plan will rise from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, while the family plan will increase to $26.99. Different pricing may also apply depending on whether users subscribe عبر mobile or desktop platforms. YouTube says the change is intended to support creators and improve the overall Premium experience.

Despite this, many subscribers have reacted negatively. Some argue that even a $2 increase adds up over time, while others say the principle of constant price hikes is pushing them away. Social media has seen a wave of users claiming they’ve already canceled their subscriptions.

The frustration is amplified by ongoing complaints about ads on the free tier, including reports of long unskippable ads on TVs. Some users believe these tactics are designed to push more people toward paid plans, making the price increase feel even more controversial.
