YouTube has disclosed its total revenue for the first time, showing the platform generated more than $60 billion in 2025 from advertising and subscriptions, putting it ahead of Netflix.

The figures were revealed in Alphabet’s latest earnings report, marking the first public breakdown of YouTube’s full business rather than just ad sales. The total surpasses Netflix’s $45.18 billion in 2025 revenue, with only Disney reporting higher revenue among entertainment companies.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said the company now has over 325 million paid subscriptions across services including YouTube Premium, YouTube TV, and Google One, underscoring YouTube’s expansion beyond advertising. Ads remain a core revenue source, with $11.38 billion generated in Q4 2025, though lower political ad spending weighed on growth.

Pichai also highlighted rising engagement, noting more than 700 million hours of podcasts were watched on YouTube via TVs in a single month, and that the NFL’s Sunday Ticket offering reached a record number of paid subscribers on the platform. Alphabet reported Q4 revenue of $113.8 billion and net income of $34.5 billion, and plans to invest up to $185 billion in AI in 2026.

In a 2026 letter, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said over 1 million channels were using YouTube’s AI tools daily, while YouTube Shorts now averages 200 billion daily views.
