YouTuber Justin Ho has gone viral after storming what he claimed was a scam call center in Delhi, India, accompanied by six people dressed in oversized SpongeBob SquarePants costumes.
The August 7 stunt began with the 23-year-old creator carrying a boombox before the costumed group entered the office. Once inside, the SpongeBobs began dancing around employees while music played, turning the alleged scam-center raid into a chaotic spectacle.
Security guards eventually stepped in and attempted to remove the group using lathis. However, the bulky SpongeBob costumes appeared to soften the blows, allowing the group to continue dancing and surrounding the guards.
Ho later said he had received information from inside sources claiming the office was involved in scams. According to him, employees initially appeared frightened by the unexpected intrusion before some began laughing at the scene.
The video quickly went viral, surpassing 1.7 million views on Instagram and attracting reactions from other creators and viewers. Many praised the stunt as an unusual form of scammer payback, while others criticized the confrontation with security guards, arguing they may simply have been doing their jobs without knowing about any alleged illegal activity.
Ho has since left India and traveled to Thailand. Following the attention generated by the video, he teased plans for an even bigger project and said he hopes to eventually become one of the world’s biggest YouTubers.
The stunt follows a broader trend of creators targeting suspected scam operations. Other YouTubers have previously worked to expose fraud networks, with some investigations even contributing to cases pursued by US federal authorities.
