YouTuber Dalton Thompson brought his homemade drivable couch to a car meet, where the unusual vehicle quickly sparked a confrontation with a Porsche owner.
Thompson created the vehicle by mounting a blue two-seater couch on the base of an electric skateboard. According to a police officer he spoke with, the creation qualifies as a personal mobility device and is legal to operate.
After previously entering the couch in another car show, Thompson took it to a new event where organizers welcomed him and directed him to park between a Porsche and a BMW.
While Thompson showed attendees the storage compartment hidden beneath the couch cushions, the Porsche owner arrived and demanded that he move the couch away from his car. He questioned why it was allowed at the event, arguing that it was “not a car.”
Thompson responded that event staff had specifically assigned him the parking spot and suggested the Porsche owner move instead if he had a problem.
The situation became even more unusual when a staff member later revealed that Thompson had been placed next to the Porsche intentionally. According to the organizer, the Porsche owner had already caused tension after arriving early, refusing to follow parking instructions and clashing with event staff.
